Course Description

The course is an RSPCA recognised fish welfare course.

Scotland is the third largest producer of salmon in the world with a production target of 210,000 tonnes by 2020. Over 2,400 people are employed in this industry which contributes £600 million to the economy at farm gate prices. It is vital that fish farm operatives who are responsible for these farmed fish are trained in the health and welfare aspects relevant to their roles. This will help to ensure that fish are free from disease and suffering whilst at the same time promote good productivity and comply with legislation.
